ABOUT SKIPS PRE-SCHOOL

Keyperson

We run a ‘Key Person’ system at SKIPS PRE-SCHOOL. Your child will be allocated a Key Person.  This Key Person builds a close relationship with both you and your child to ensure a smooth transition into the nursery environment.  They help your child to settle into the nursery and make friends with others.

SKIPS PRE-SCHOOL
is a well established and friendly setting and has been run and owned by Mrs. Sue Chesson since 1998.

SKIPS is committed to providing a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment for all children to play, learn and develop freely. We treat children as individuals with equal concern and provide consistent care. We help our children to develop responsibility for themselves and their actions and to become competent, confident, independent and co-operative individuals. We encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect for both themselves and other people.

Our services are accessible to all children in the community.

Staff

SKIPS employs an enthusiastic, well qualified and caring team of staff who attend training courses to ensure they are equipped with the current teaching approaches. Staff organise the day-to-day running of SKIPS, providing a friendly home from home atmosphere.

SKIPS is committed to providing:

• Care and activities that put the needs and safety of children first

• A programme of activities that is interesting, educational, stimulating and fun

• Activities that promote each child's social, physical, moral and intellectual development

• Access to a variety of facilities and equipment under safe and supervised conditions

• A staff team that is experienced, well trained and properly supported

• Services that meet the conditions of the Children's Act 1989 and all other relevant childcare legislation, wherever they apply

• An environment where no child is bullied or suffers discrimination in any form

We aim to ensure your child has the best possible start and is ready for Primary School Education

Most parents are anxious when leaving their young children to be cared for outside the home. We are well aware of this and keen to ensure that children and parents adapt easily to transition. When your child starts with us, pre-nursery contact is encouraged and you are invited to initially come into SKIPS and spend time with him or her to assist in the settling in process.

We hope we can work together to ensure our positive and friendly ethos continues and hope you will enjoy your time at SKIPS. We look forward to working with you and your family.
